SCC Community Celebrates Holy Spirit Mass

Saint Columban College community celebrated Holy Spirit Mass on June 24, 2016 at Sto. Nino Cathedral Church, Pagadian City with the theme: Holy Spirit, Fire of Divine Mercy, Dwells in our hearts.

The Heavenly Mass

The said holy mass was started at exactly 8:38 in the morning officiated by Fr. Gilbert M. Hingone, SCC School President and co-celebrators Fr. Belstar O. Ediang, SCC Vice-President of Finance and Rev. Fr. Paul Cabante. The presentation of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit were participated in by the different departments of the college including elementary and secondary schools level. The big red candle (wisdom) presented by the Grade School pupil, for the CCS student was the Year of Mercy Logo (Understanding) while the Junior High School appeared the CFC Book (Counsel), the CTEAS student offered the Floral Heart (Fortitude), hence the School Manual (Knowledge) carried out by SCC GRANSCIl President Bill Doldol, in the other hand the CBE student handed the Bible (Piety) and lastly the Crucifix (Fear of the Lord) was presented by a Senior High School student. The commentator of the said mass was Mrs. Janus Agustero-Naparan, SCC DSA, Ms. Pearl Jansen Dumayaca read the First Reading, Mr. Junrey Binag and Ms. Marissa Quipot were the psalmists and for the second reading it was read by CTEAS Dean, Dr. Mario F. Alayon.

Illumination of the Candle

After the Mass Communion, the red candle sparkled and lighted the face of every SCC Community and brightened the whole ambiance of the church as they lighted the candles. The said candle represents the wisdom in the seven gifts of the Holy Spirit and as a symbol of peace; the 2 doves freely flew away.

Indeed, the Holy Spirit Mass was meaningful and successfully done.
