Grade School concludes Nutrition Month Celebration

The Basic Education-Grade School department celebrated Nutrition Month from July 4 to 29 with activities participated by students and faculty members.

With this year’s theme “First 1000 Days ni baby Pahalagahan Para sa Malusog na Kinabukasan”. This year’s theme emphasizes to promote collaboration among stakeholders at the national and local levels for health programs for families with pregnant women and children less than two years old.

Dr. Liz Corazon C. Parangan, the keynote speaker highlighted the importance of eating nutritious food and the awareness of proper infant and young child feeding practices.

The school had a series of activities lined up for the whole month; joined the Department of Health’s campaign Oplan Goodbye Bulate given by last June 13, Higher Grades vegetables’ cooking, daily trivia, Tabo for a Cause, poster making and slogan making contest and school-wide fitness Zumba exercise.

As a highlight of the culmination on July 29, startling nutritious outfit of every grade level represent for Mr. and Miss Nutrition 2016.

Vin Stanley Mira and Fatmah Al-Sheraifi were proclaimed as Mr. and Miss Nutrition 2016 for lower grades and Serge Jason Enco and Kristina Santurdio won the Mr. and Miss Nutrition 2016 for higher grades.

The winners in the different categories were: Poster Making Contest (Lower Grade Category) Drew Atasha Bianet, Christie Tagalog and Hizam Manticayan. Poster Making Contest (Higher Grade Category) Keith David Bama, Jhoanna May Orbita and Dave Arwin Bama. For Slogan Making winners were Gracel June Fuerzas, John Nicko Aguilar and Rein Kirsten Banua.
