Valmorida bags Gurong Columbano Award 2024

Ms. Francis May S. Valmorida, MA, LPT was awarded the Gurong Columbano Award during the Saint Columban College (SCC) – Employees’ Night 2024 held last October 10, 2024, at Amoroso Hall, this city.


The Gurong Kolumbano Award was established to honor educators whose commitment to teaching mirrors Dr. Rosario U. Saniel’s passion, former Dean of the Graduate School, this served as a beacon for educators who strive for excellence, leadership, and service.
Ms. Valmorida, an Instructor of College of Teacher’s Education, Arts, and Science (CTEAS) for over 13 years was chosen and carefully deliberated by the Awards Committee composed by the 14 Members of this institution to receive the said award.

In an interview, she mentioned that, “I feel overwhelmed and humbled, I know there are a lot of teachers that are also deserving to receive this kind of award. Their efforts, dedication, and perseverance to commit a pursuit in academic excellence are very powerful. They are just working silently and unnoticed.”


“This award is not just for me but a shared achievement of the SCC community since this is a reflection of help that I have received from my administrators and students,” she added.
Ms. Valmorida was honored with a cash incentive and a plaque of appreciation, symbolizing not just the recognition of her professional achievements, but also her contributions to the spiritual and communal life of her surroundings.
