Zamboanga Peninsula, October 15, 2024 – The Philippine Startup Challenge 9 (PSC 9) concluded its Regional Pitching Competition for Region IX and BASULTA, with innovative ideas taking center stage. The competition, held virtually via Zoom, brought together some of the brightest minds from various educational institutions.
The team “Byte Buddies” from Saint Columban College clinched the top spot with their Blotter Management System project. The team, mentored by Mr. Syril Glein T. Flores, MCS and Mr. Mark Lester P. Catungal, MIT, was composed of members Regien Mae D. Colot, Arcven Lee O. Manlegro, Michael John T. Caga-anan, and Alfree King P. Perez. As champions, Byte Buddies will represent Region IX in the national semi-finals.
The regional event, organized by the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Region IX and BASULTA, celebrated the innovative spirit of students as they pitched creative solutions aimed at addressing real-world challenges.
