College of Criminology (COC) inked with partner agencies the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) for the pioneering College of Criminology Interns (CCI) during the Ceremonial Dress Drilling activity on September 9, 2023, at the Youth Development Center.
COC Dean Romelinda R. Salvacion, MS Crim, invited FSupt. Rheno P. Cemafranca, Provincial Fire Marshall, PLTCOL Gilzen Nino R. Manese, OIC Chief of Police, JCSupt. Johnson M. Calub, DM., Regional Director, PCPT Edward M. Magracia, Pagadian Airport Police Station Chief, Dr. Laurefel P. Gabales, PDEA Regional Director, Ha. Joey B. Moran, NBI Agent-in-Charge, PCOL Diomarie S. Albarico, PNP Provincial Director, and CINSP Kasmin S. Tanog, City Fire Marshall, to grace the Ceremonial Dress Drilling and Memorandum of Agreement Signing. All the distinguished guests delivered brief messages of encouragement to the interns and expressed their utmost support for the partnership, which will nurture future leaders and advocates for justice. They all believed that the student’s experience in the field of communities would provide students with opportunities to make a tangible impact on society to be the change they wish to see in the world.
In her message of response, Dr. Maryjane B. Omandam, VP for Administration, emphasized the essence of strong partnership and collaboration. She expressed her sincere appreciation to all partner agencies who opened doors to the students and would provide them with the invaluable opportunity to gain practical experience in the field of criminology. She firmly believed their expertise, guidance, and mentorship would undoubtedly shape the next generation of criminologists and law enforcement professionals, equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to make communities safer. “Your commitment to this partnership, grounded in compassion and social responsibility, is commendable,” Omandam added.
She also reminded the student interns to be guided by the motto of Saint Columban, “Christi Simus Non Nostri,” which means, Let us be Christ, not our own, as they explore the real world of criminology.
