The Psychology Major Society (PSYMS) under the College of Teachers Education, Arts, and Sciences (CTEAS) of Saint Columban College (SCC) conducted its first-ever Psychology Pinning Ceremony bearing the theme, “Hiraya, in the Dark, we seek Strength. In Light, we exhibit Courage” last April 19, 2024 at SCC – Youth Development Center, San Francisco District, this City.
A total of five Psychology students from Fourth Year Level, namely Jessa V. Alfanta, Arvi John A. Batinggal, Niña Kristene V. Bogo, Joy Krizza E. Jumamil, and Jilmee D. Rodrigo, served as inductees of the rite of passage to the AB Psychology Program.
Dr. Genesis B. Naparan, Dean of CTEAS, uttered during his Welcome Remarks that, “This pinning ceremony is a celebration of your accomplishments, this also marks to welcome you in Mental Health profession. Your profession is in-person centered.”
“What makes [Psychology] different from other professions is that you have to manifest the value of wisdom. Your college experience as well molded you to become who you are right now,” he added.
The Psychology students of SCC have demonstrated that the 2024 cohort is poised to become exemplary role models and dedicated future psychologists, showing great respect for human life.
